On Wednesday October 7th, the Indy Fuel announced the signing of American defenseman Willie Raskob. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.
Raskob joins the Indy Fuel after spending last season in Denmark Metal Ligaen. There, he played one season with Rungsted Seier Capital. Raskob, a 5’10 defensemen, played 48 games during his stint with Rungsted. As such, he recorded 30 points, having scored seven goals along with 23 assists. He also added 38 penalty minutes.
The righty also made an appearance in 139 games in the ECHL. In doing so, he’s seen time with Railers, Quad City Mallards and Kansas City Mavericks. A native of Hastings, Minnesota, Raskob, 25-years-old, appeared in 69 games during his tenure with Quad City.
The defensemen recorded three goals along with 34 assists which made for 37 points. As such, in 2017-18, this earned him a spot in the ECHL All-Star Game. Raskob signed an AHL contract for 2018-19 with the Stockton Heat.
Despite that, he spent most of the season with the Kansas City Mavericks. Resulting from that, he scored nine goals along with 40 assists in 69 games played.
