UVM Hockey Halts All Activity Due To COVID-19 Protocols

The University of Vermont announced on Friday night that they are pausing all athletic activities until February 5th due to COVID-19 concerns. This news comes just hours after the UVM women’s team announced in a memo that they are going on pause as a precautionary measure. As such, the team’s weekend series against the Boston Terriers at Walter Brown was postponed.

The UVM women’s team was stalled by the conference after their weekly meeting with the media was cancelled. The unexpected announcement was made early Friday morning.

This is now the third time that the team has had to deal with a postponement in play. Boston University, with only three games played, is the only other team that has played fewer games than the Catamounts hockey program. Vermont is currently tied for fifth place with the New Hampshire Wildcats in the Hockey East conference standings.

The two both hold a record of 5-1. Hockey East will be announcing the team’s opponents on a weekly basis every Tuesday morning. Stay tuned to ThePuckAuthority.com as more information starts becoming available.
