Utah Grizzlies Sign Kris Myllari For Upcoming Season

On Wednesday, November 4th, the Utah Grizzlies announced the signing of Canadian defensemen and rookie, Kris Myllari. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming Season.

Myllari, from Ottawa, Ontario, joins the Utah Grizzlies after four years at Penn State. During his tenure with the Nittany Lions, Myllari recorded 19 goals along with 43 assists which made for 62 points. He did so in 149 games.

With the university, Myllari’s 19 goals is ranked first all-time among Penn State defensemen. As well, his 62 points are currently ranked as second all-time. As if that wasn’t enough, he also holds the program record for the most blocked shots in program history. This, he holds, amassing 320.

During his collegiate hockey career, the men’s team won 85 games from 2017-2020. Prior to committing to college, Myllari played junior hockey in the USHL with the Youngstown Phantoms. While there, he recorded six goals along with 28 assists which made for 34 points. He did so in 116 games.

The Grizzlies will open the season on December 11th against the Rapid City Rush. After opening the season on the road, on December 18th, they’ll play as host to the Tulsa Oilers.
