On Monday July 20, the Utah Grizzlies announced the re-signing of American defensemen J.C Brassard. This will be his second year playing in Utah. Brassard, 24-years-old, played 35 games with the Utah Grizzlies last season, racking up just three goals and nine assists along with 24 penalty minutes. Prior to his pro debut, Brassard played college hockey at Union College where he spanned four seasons.
From 2014-18, Brassard racked up eight goals and 52 assists through 135 games. After college, during his senior year, he joined the South Carolina Stingrays where he would play for the season’s remainder.
J.C. is known more for his physicality while he also presents the ability to block shots. This being his third year of pro, J.C. will be a great defensemen with the core group that Utah will have this year. They will do so come opening night under the direction of head coach Tim Branham.
