Utah Grizzlies Agree To Deal With Defensemen Wyatt Ege

On Friday November 13th, the Utah Grizzlies announced the signing of American defensemen Wyatt Ege. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.

Ege joins the Utah Grizzlies after spending four seasons in the NCAA. He would spend his last three with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Doing so between 2017-2020, the 25-year-old racked up six goals along with 35 assists in 111 games. He was a two-time honourable mention and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Prior to joining the Buckeyes, Ege spent his freshmen season with the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves men’s hockey program. During the one year, he played there, the righty racked up four goals along with nine assists in 34 games.

Throughout his collegiate hockey career, Ege played 145 games, putting up 10 goals along with 44 assists. During the spring of 2019, Ege, a Minnesota native, earned his bachelor’s degree in family resource management.

I’m looking forward to seeing him added on as a part of a great defensive core the hockey club has. Utah is set to hold their home opener on December 18th as they play host to the Oilers. Before that, on December 11th, the Grizzlies open the season against the Rapid City Rush.
