The Montreal Canadiens provided an update on head coach Claude Julien on Friday morning. Julien was sent home to Montreal after undergoing a procedure at St. Michaels Hospital. The bench boss had a stent inserted into his coronary artery to prevent any blockages.
He was released on Friday morning and doctors expect him to make a full recovery. On a personal note, Claude wanted to thank the amazing team at St. Michaels for the amazing care he received while he was there. He also wanted to personally thank everyone who sent him well wishes after being transported.
As such, coach Julien will be out for the remainder of the series against the Philadelphia Flyers. As mentioned, assistant coach Kirk Muller has assumed head coaching duties on an interim basis.
