The Puck Authority’s Three Stars Of The Night (Nov 11)

⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Evgeni Kuznetzov

It was a hard-fought matchup between the Arizona Coyotes and the Washington Capitals and although the Capitals lost to Alex Galchenyuk and the Coyotes at home, they did at least end the night with a point at Gila River Arena. After being down 3-0, Evgeni Kuznetzov brought his team back into the game with two unanswered goals. This would raise Washington’s momentum for the remainder of the night in the desert.

The two goals he recorded were his seventh and eighth of the regular season. This would also register as his 17th and 18th points of the season. Kuznetsov played 23:28 against the Coyotes and logged five shots on goal, one hit and a Plus/Minus rating of +2.

⭐️⭐️ – Sebastian Aho

The Carolina Hurricanes blew out the Ottawa Senators by a score of 8-2 on Monday. Helping lead his team to the win was the Hurricanes young centreman Sebastian Aho. Aho finished the night with two goals, including what would be jotted down as the game-winner.

His first goal of the night was short-handed and proved to be the game-winning goal as well. He scored his second goal of the game just past the opening minute of the third period. This would answer the goal from Colin White which occurred during the dying minutes of the second period.

Aho had a great performance where he finished the night with a Plus/Minus rating of +4 and two goals on just two shots. This would all be the case while playing just 15:28 minutes against the Ottawa Senators.

⭐️ – Joel Edmundson

Joel Edmundson had himself a night on Monday that he will never forget. 17 games into his tenure with the Carolina Hurricanes, Edmundson remained without a point with his new team coming over from the St. Louis Blues. However, in their blowout win over the Senators, the Hurricanes new defensemen scored his first goal for his new team.

As well, he finished the night while leading his team with a total of three points. All of that to be said, Joel Edmundson finished the night with one goal and two assists. His three points were his first points with Carolina and all came during the game’s final period. His two assists were both primary markers and his goal was the last goal of the game.
