Scouting Notes:

Oksentyuk is one of the smaller prospects entering the draft standing at 5’8. However, he’s made a name for himself over the past year. In 58 games with Flint last season, he put up 33 goals and 45 assists for 78 points. This included putting up a 17-game point streak which was a franchise record for the Firebirds. He’s got nice hands and has shown that he’s got an ability to put up points like crazy. As the 2020 prospect pool is very deep, I don’t expect Oksentyuk to get selected until the draft’s third round.

Belarus is finally starting to get on the map for professional hockey. At least one player from Belarus has been selected in the past four NHL Drafts. The last time a player from Belarus played in the NHL was Mikhail Grabovski during the 2015-16 season. If Oksentyuk continues at the pace he’s at, it won’t be long until we see him in the NHL.
