Scouting Notes

Ridly has spent the past two seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL. In doing so, the left-handed shooter had a breakout year in 2019-20. Having played in 56 games, Greig amassed 60 points, scoring 26 goals along with 34 assists. He participated at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup where he played for Team Canada and received a silver medal. During that tournament, Greig would pick up two goals along with one assist for three points in five games.

When looking at Ridly Greig, you see a guy who loves to set up right above the face-off dot, and because of that, it’s where majority of his shots come from. Greig is listed as a left-winger, but despite that, also has the ability to step into the face-off circle whenever needed. As such, he can get the job done whenever called upon.

He’s also shown he’s not afraid to skate with the puck and drive to the net to make something happen offensively. However, when skating in his own zone, Grieg seems to have some trouble getting the puck out and tries to be too fancy.
