Scouting Notes:

There’s no doubt coming into the 2020 NHL Draft that Hendrix Lapierre is the ultimate wild card. Injuries have limited the 18-year-old forward to only 19 games this season in which he’s picked up two goals and 15 assists for 17 points. However, despite missing so much time due to injuries, Lapierre may just sneak his way into the end of the first round.

Is Lapierre worth the risk? Yes, he’s a pass-first player who can always find the open man on the ice and create plays. However, it goes without saying that he’ll need at least one more year in the Q before even thinking about playing hockey in the states. With three concussions in one year, he’s definitely going to be a flight risk, but one certainly worth taking. He’s got one of the highest ceilings for players in the first round, so expect this to be just the beginning of a bright future for Lapierre.
