Scouting Notes:

Aidan De La Gorgendiere is a reliable two-way defensemen. He shines in his own zone and can play an effective shut-down role. He is very mobile and can be relied upon by his coaching staff in most situations. His endurance allows him to handle large amounts of ice-time and he is used against the other team’s top lines. His coaches love his versatility, and due to his style of play, I can see him being the shut down blue-liner in a defensive pair that would have him next to more of an offensive minded defensemen.

His offensive game does not stem a lot from his tendency to shoot the puck. In fact, De La Gorgendiere does not shoot the puck enough. His shot, while an asset, is not something that he uses enough.

He is strong in transitional play and does a great job shutting down scoring chances and starting an offensive chance for his team. Aidan De La Gorgendiere is likely not going to be a high-scoring defender in the pro’s, but he has the skillset necessary to make it to the next level.
