On Monday, June 22nd, the Newfoundland Growlers traded defenceman Tommy Panico to the Orlando Solar Bears for future considerations.
The Wall, New Jersey native took to the ice in 39 games where he scored three goals while adding an assist. As he did so on 34 shots, the UMass-Lowell graduate racked up 12 penalty minutes while also adding a Plus/Minus rating of +1.
Prior to playing in Newfoundland, Panico spent parts of two seasons in Worcester, totalling five points in 46 regular-season games.
What Does Panico Bring To Orlando?
Tommy Panico, 25, is a great defenceman with an amazing stick. His skating prowess and size helped the Newfoundland Growlers to their first in their division. Although his point totals significantly dropped after having departed from the NCAA, he is seen as a solid depth player that Orlando can rely on to use on and off.
