Longtime Utah Grizzlies Defensemen Taylor Richart Announces Retirement

On Wednesday October 7th, longtime Utah Grizzlies defensemen Taylor Richart announced his retirement. The American hangs up his skates after playing four years of professional hockey. Over the course of his career, Richart played with two two teams at different levels; with Utah in the ECHL and San Antonio in the American Hockey League.

During his tenure with the Rampage, Richart took part in two games, racking up one goal along with two assists. As for his time with the Grizzlies, Richart recorded 44 goals along with 99 assists in 252 games. His best season was just last year when he scored 12 goals along with 29 assists. That made for 41 points in the shortened season where he played 62 games.

Richart also spent four seasons with the Miami Redhawks in the NCAA. During his career in Ohio, the defensemen played 133 games where he scored three goals along with 17 assists. Now, a message from some fans for Richart. First off, I will go. Richart, congratulations on a wonderful career, good luck in your future.

Ina Morinconi says, “What a career, thanks for everything, congrats on a fantastic career and all the best for the future.” Daniel Jackson says, “He will definitely be missed, what an awesome guy.” Richart’s retirement was a bit of a surprise to some fans.

Richart said in his post on Instagram, “What a journey! The game of hockey has taught me so much about life and given me memories I’ll cherish for a lifetime.” He also said, “Thank you to all the coaches, trainers, staff, my teammates, family and fans.” Richart then concluded saying, “To my biggest believers and supporters, my parents, I truly can’t thank you enough! Onto the next chapter!”

Richart will be missed his many fans, coaches, teammates, coaches and opponents. Congrats #11, Taylor Richart.
