Kansas City Mavericks Bring Back Winger Charlie O’Connor

On Tuesday August 11th, the Kansas City Mavericks announced the re-signing of Charlie O’Connor for the upcoming season. In 13 games with the Mavericks following a trade from the Admirals in January, O’Connor scored a goal and two assists which made for three points to go along with six penalty minutes.

In his 33 games prior with Norfolk, O’Connor racked up seven goals and seven assists which made for a total of 14 points. That would bring his 2019-20 season totals to eight goals along with nine assists. As such, it would make for a total of 17 points.

The most impressive thing about O’Connor is his compete level as well as his work ethic. He made a great impression on the Mavericks after jumping right in following his tenure with the Admirals. He is a fantastic penalty killer and he is also very good on the forecheck. You can’t have too many workhorses on a hockey team and O’Connor is a great addition to what is turning out to be a rugged and tough roster for the upcoming season.
