Kansas City Mavericks Agree To Deal With Forward Phil Marinaccio

On Tuesday September 1st, the Kansas City Mavericks announced the signing of Canadian forward Phil Marinaccio. The centreman spent four years in collegiate hockey with the Bemidji State Beavers. Following his NCAA tenure, where he was a teammate of current Maverick Charlie O’Connor, Marinaccio, who can also play wing, made the trip overseas to join Storhamar in Norway.

Last season, once back in Norway after one year in Denmark, Marinaccio split 2019-20 in the country’s Eliteserien league between Storhamar and Frisk Asker. In 41 games between the two, Marinaccio recorded 14 goals along with 18 assists for 32 points. The competition in Norway’s top league is stiff, so Marinaccio should be poised to have a great year in the ECHL.

Marinaccio is an elite shooter and his playmaking ability continues to improve each and every season. These attributes, along with his great hands, make Marinaccio an electric player to watch. He should add some serious firepower to the Mavericks offence as he tries to make a name for himself next season Kansas City.
