Indy Fuel Postpone Weekend Series Against Wheeling Nailers Due To Positive Tests

On Thursday, January 14th, the Indy Fuel announced their weekend series scheduled for Friday and Saturday against the Nailers won’t be played. The league has postponed the two games, citing league safety protocols due to COVID-19 concern.

The announcement was made Thursday afternoon after several positive cases were confirmed by the Nailers. To ensure the safety of all players, staff and fans, the league opted to postpone out of an abundance of caution. In conjunction with the ECHL, the Indy Fuel said Thursday in a statement, “Health and safety is the number one priority for the Fuel organization. Therefore, the postponement of the game is to ensure all fans remain safe and healthy in order to attend games in the future.”

As of the time of postponement, the back-to-back games have been rescheduled for April. The January 15th game will now be played on Friday April 2nd. The January 16th game will be held the following day, Saturday April 3rd. The promotions on schedule for this weekend have also been pushed in accordance with the game schedule.
