On Thursday October 22nd, the Indy Fuel announced the signing of American forward Peter Krieger. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.
Krieger joins the Indy Fuel after spending last season in the Swedish Allsvenskan. He competed with Västerviks IK. Now 26-years-old, Krieger appeared in 52 games last season, putting up 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points. He also added 48 penalty minutes.
Prior to starting his career in pro hockey, Krieger, who stands at 5’11, spanned three seasons playing with the Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks. He then transferred for his senior season, joining the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs before making the jump pro.
A native of Oakdale, Minnesota, Krieger played in 85 games there, putting up 20 goals along with 34 assists. Spending two seasons with the program, eh would help the team to back-to-back NCAA championships. While doing so in 2018 and 2019, this included an NCHC Championship in 2019.
Prior to his collegiate hockey career, Krieger played junior hockey with the Waterloo Blackhawks in the USHL. Doing so, he played 60 games, recording 26 goals along with 41 assists. Krieger, a left-handed shooter, also helped the team to the Clark Cup Final.
