On Tuesday October 27th, the Indy Fuel announced the acquisition of Jared Thomas from the Florida Everblades. Doing so in a three-team trade, forward Alex Brooks has joined the Tulsa Oilers.
Brooks, 29-years-old, spent the last two seasons with the Indy Fuel. He played 108 games with the team, where he recorded eight goals along with 29 assists. In 43 games last season, the defensemen amassed nine points, having tallied two goals along with seven assists.
The native of Walker, Michigan earned himself a spot in the 2018-19 All-Star Game after recording a career high six goals along with 22 assists during the regular season.
Thomas, 26-years-old, joins the Indy Fuel from the Florida Everblades. He signed with the organization after spending last season with the Tulsa Oilers. With them, he appeared in 50 games, having scored seven goals along with 24 assists.
The 6’2 forward spent his first pro season bouncing up and down between the AHL and ECHL. The lefty took the ice in seven games between the San Diego Gulls and San Antonio Rampage. With the Oilers in 2018-19, Jared Thomas played in 51 games, scoring 21 goals along with 44 assists.
He was also second on the team in points. Thomas would complete the season with a Plus/Minus rating of +17. Prior to making the jump pro, the native of Hermantown, Minnesota native spent four years playing with the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.
There, he played 163 games, scoring 21 goals along with 39 assists. This included a +11 differential. With 11 goals and 15 assists, Thomas also helped guide the program to a National Championship during his senior season.
