Greenville Swamp Rabbits November Roster Update

On Friday November 27th, the ECHL released a pair of transactions for a handful of teams who will start play next month. Greenville has added six forwards, three defensemen and a goaltender to their active roster.

In addition to the release of transactions, the ECHL announced that the Greenville Swamp Rabbits have signed Cody Milan for the upcoming season. He originally signed with the Norfolk Admirals, but became a free agent when the team pulled out last month.

Greenville’s New Defensive Trio

Greenville has signed Sam Jardine, a Canadian defensemen, for the upcoming season. He has since been added to their roster for training camp. Jardine has seen some time in both the AHL and the ECHL. Prior to making the jump pro, the lefty spent three seasons playing with the Ohio State Buckeyes in the NCAA.

At 27-years-old, Jardine has skated in a total of 221 games at the professional level. This includes 71 in the AHL and 150 games in the ECHL.

Joining the Alberta native is rookie defensemen Benjamin Finkelstein. The 23-year-old makes the jump to pro hockey after playing four seasons of collegiate hockey. He did so with the St. Lawrence Saints before finishing up with the Boston Eagles. He also saw time in the USHL, playing 23 games with the Waterloo Black Hawks.

To finalize the team’s new defensive trio, the Swamp Rabbits also signed Jack Sadek, a rookie defensemen who shares hockey in his bloodlines. Sadek is the brother of Dani Sadek and cousin of Brady and Ramsey Skjei. This will be his third pro season, but his first in the league not with the Allen Americans.

Greenville’s Newest Goaltender

The Swamp Rabbits have added Jacob Ingham, a Canadian goaltender, for the upcoming season. Since 2016, the native of Barrie has played major junior in the Ontario Hockey League. He started with the Mississauga Steelheads before wrapping things up with the Kitchener Rangers.

Moving Forward(s)

the Swamp Rabbits have signed Joey Haddad, a Canadian forward, for the upcoming season. He has since been added to their roster for training camp. Haddad has been playing pro hockey since making his debut back in 2009. The winger has hit the ice in both the AHL and the ECHL. Since 2014, he has played overseas with the Cardiff Devils in the EIHL.

Alongside the 32-year-old is Ottawa native Greg Meireles. The centreman was selected last season 168th overall by the Florida Panthers. The last five seasons, he has played major junior with the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL.

Another 2019 pick from Florida, forward Matthew Wedman has also signed on with Greenville. A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Wedman played major junior in the WHL with both Seattle and Kelowna. Now 21-years-old, Wedman signs his first contract in professional hockey.

After finishing his collegiate hockey career, rookie forward Karch Bachman signs his first contract as well. Bachman, 23-years-old, spent four seasons playing with the Miami Redhawks. Prior to that, he played two years of junior wearing four different jerseys in the USHL.

St. Cloud State Huskies Athletics

Lastly, brothers Nick and Jack Poehling have both agreed to contracts with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. The twins will both makes their debuts after spending four seasons at St. Cloud State University. Prior to committing to college, both spent two seasons playing with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL.
