Solar Bears Visit The Swamp Rabbits
On Friday January 29th, the Orlando Solar Bears paid a visit to the Swamp Rabbits and defeated Greenville 4-3 in overtime.
In the game’s opening period, Chris LeBlanc gave his team the early lead before Brendan Connolly responded three minutes later. That would tie the game at one, very quickly erasing Orlando’s early lead.
Onwards to the second frame, Jake Coughler struck back for Orlando, regaining the lead, 2-1 for the Solar Bears. Not only did Anthony Rinaldi tie the game back up for the Swamp Rabbits, but Brendan Connolly scored his second of the night, this helping Greenville obtain their first lead of the night.

During the extra frame, Orlando forward Jake Coughler scored his second of the night, this winning the game by a 4-3 final.
Swamp Rabbits Host Jacksonville Icemen
On Saturday January 30th, the Jacksonville Icemen faced the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, where they took things to overtime for the 3-2 victory.
Brendan Warren put the Icemen up first with a power play goal halfway through the second frame. Jacksonville extended their lead about eight minutes later when winger Pascal Aquin found the net for his third goal of the regular season.
In the third, winger Anthony Rinaldi finally got Greenville on the board ten minutes into the period. The assist on the play was rewarded to Greg Meireles. With less than a minute left in regulation, defensemen Ben Finkelstein tied the game up at two, which ultimately pushed this one into sudden death overtime.
During the extra frame, forward Christopher Brown put the puck in the net, which would hand to the Icemen a road victory, 3-2.
On Sunday January 31st, the Icemen returned to Bon Secours Wellness Arena, but were ultimately shut out by Greenville backstop Ryan Bednard.
The only two goals of the night were both put in during the game’s third period, scored by winger Patrick Bajkov and Canadian forward Mike McNamee. This would see the Swamp Rabbits steal the second game, with a 2-0 victory.
