On Tuesday September 15th, the Florida Everblades announced the signing of American forward Jared Thomas. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season. This will be the left-winger’s first season playing for the Everblades hockey club.
Thomas has spent the past two seasons in the ECHL with the Tulsa Oilers. During the tenure he spanned there, the lefty recorded 28 goals along with 68 assists for 96 points. He also added 54 penalty minutes.
In the same year he played with the Oilers, the forward also saw ice time with two different teams in the American Hockey League. He played four games with the San Antonio Rampage plus another three with the San Diego Gulls. Prior to making the jump pro, Thomas spanned four seasons playing in the NCAA with the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.
Playing college hockey in his home state, Thomas registered 60 points on 21 goals along with 39 assists. During the 2017-18 season, Thomas was an integral member, helping guide the Bulldogs to the NCAA Championship. Not only that, but he was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
