On Wednesday January 20th, the ECHL has announced that four upcoming games have all been postponed due to health and safety protocols. For the wellbeing of staff and players, all have been advised to follow the league’s COVID-19 policies.
Wednesday’s 7:00pm game against the Solar Bears was the first of four to be halted by the league. The Solar Bears were looking to regain a winning streak, meanwhile, the Swamp Rabbits were trying to extend theirs. The league has not yet announced if the January 22nd has been postponed. Unless a different announcement is made, both teams will hit the ice on Friday night in Orlando at the Amway Center.
In conjunction with their first batch of postponements, the league also announced that the weekend series has been postponed against the Stingrays and Nailers. The two were looking to face off in a pair of games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Stingrays were looking to extend their winning streak, meanwhile, the Nailers were hoping to break their losing streak.
The league will be reviewing potential cases and review team schedules as further details become available.
