Defensemen Dalton Thrower Agrees To Deal With Jacksonville Icemen

On Tuesday September 29th, the Jacksonville Icemen announced the re-signing of Canadian defenseman Dalton Thrower. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.

This will be his second season with the Icemen and his seventh in the ECHL. During the 2019-20 season, Thrower racked up three goals along with five assists for a total of eight points. He did so in 35 games while also adding on 73 penalty minutes.

Thrower, 26-years-old, spent five seasons prior with both Allen and Brampton. With Allen in 2017-18, he reached career highs in both points and assists. The 6’1, 200-pound defensemen also played in nine games in the American Hockey League. He did so with the St. John’s IceCaps back in 2015-16.

Before his pro career got underway, the native of British Columbia spent five seasons playing in the Western Hockey League. Thrower spent his junior career between the Saskatoon Blades and Vancouver Giants. He was selected by the Montreal Canadiens 51st overall back in 2012.

Thrower joins defensemen Jacob Cederholm, Jarod Hilderman and Kevin McKernan on the blue line. He also joins forwards Abbott Girduckis, Adam Dauda, Brendan Warren and Cameron Critchlow. This also includes Wacey Rabbit, Ian McKinnon and Nathan Perkovich. The 2020-21 season is set to begin on the fourth of December.
