Former Atlanta Gladiator goaltender, Dan Vladar, agreed to terms with the Boston Bruins on a three-year contract extension. The three-year deal has the first two years as a two-way contract and the final year as a one-way contract.
The 23-year-old backstop played a total of 60 games with the Atlanta Gladiators in the ECHL. He spanned three seasons with the team from 2016-2019. During the 2016-17 season, Vladar played 18 games with the Gladiators, recording a 3.89 goals against average and a .887 save percentage.
The 2017-18 season saw Vladar make 41 appearances with the Gladiators with a 2.96 goals against average. He also added a .911 save percentage. Vladar only made a single appearance for Atlanta last season before getting called up to the AHL where he spent time with the Providence Bruins.
He first saw time with the hockey club via a call-up in 2016-17 and since then, has played in a total of 68 games with Boston’s affiliate. Vladar led the AHL in both save percentage at .936 and goals against average at 1.79 last season.
The former Gladiator goaltender is suited up in the NHL bubble and serving as the backup to Jaroslav Halak. He’s doing so as the Boston Bruins look to take home the cup throughout the Stanley Cup playoffs.
