The Beast have brought in a new rookie to join them on forward as they announce their latest signing. Joining Brampton on Thursday afternoon after playing overseas is Justin Valentino.
The 27-year-old from Thompson, MB is a player that has been growing in the Canadian hockey system for the past few years. From the MJHL, where he played with the Swan Valley Stampeders and the Dauphin Kings, he soon found himself going to Alberta to continue his studies at the University of Lethbridge.
Valentino played all five years with the Pronghorns without missing a game in the regular season. Playing in Canada West, Valentino produced 64 goals and 55 assists for 96 points.
After playing in university for five years, the left-handed shooter took his assets and traveled to Europe when he played for a year. He started out in France’s top hockey league, Ligue Magnus, and was later a part of the Diables Rouges de Briançon. However, this would be only brief as he traveled again, this time heading to Poland. During his time in Central Europe, he played in Poland’s top league, Polska Hokej Liga, with the Podhale Nowy Targ where he joined for a playoff spot.
Valentino is just one of the several new faces that are joining the Beast for the upcoming season. The team is starting to shape up, and as a result, the many faces on the ice can be completely different from what we saw back in March.
