The Adirondack Thunder made their sixth signing of the off-season on Tuesday afternoon as they announced the re-signing of forwarding Ara Nazarian. He joins Charlie Curti, Matt Salhany, Mike Szmatula, and Ryan Walker as returning players to the Thunder. “I know it was a weird end of the season last year but we got a lot of guys coming back, lot of skill, leadership and chemistry” said Nazarian during the announcement via Facebook Live.
Ara Nazarian Returns For His Sophmore Season
Nazarian is coming off his rookie season with Thunder which saw him appear in 52 games putting up 12 goals and 22 assists for 34 points. Prior to joining the Thunder, Ara spent four years at the University of New Hampshire. During those four years, he put up 33 goals and 41 assists for 74 points in 138 games.
Before the 2019-2020 season began the Devils had signed Nazarian to a one-year AHL contract however he didn’t spend any time with the Binghampton Devils last season. Nazarian plays a strong two-way game and brings a little bit more upside to the Thunder. Hopefully, Nazarian can avoid the dreaded sophomore slump next season.
