Adirondack Thunder Agree To Re-Sign Leading Scorer Matt Salhany

The Adirondack Thunder announced on Wednesday that forward Matt Salhany will return for his third season with the Thunder and fourth in the ECHL. Salhany is coming off a career year which saw him score 26 goals and 25 assists for 51 points in 62 games. This is a smart move by the Thunder seeing how much he managed to step up his game this season. In his announcement via Facebook, Salhany talked about his excitement of being back in Glens Falls for a third season.

“I am both grateful and excited for the opportunity to return to the Thunder for my third year. I’m confident with Alex [Loh], our core group of players, and the addition of newcomers, that we can get the organization back to the top echelon of the league. I’m looking forward to returning to Glens Falls and to get the CIA rocking again. Can wait to see you Thunder faithful!”

When the season came to a screeching halt in March and ended up finishing early, the Warwick, RI native returned home for three months while taking a break from hockey and healing some injuries. The 27-year-old forward is currently in Denver, Colorado where he mentioned he has recently started training as gyms and rinks have recently reopened there.
