On Wednesday June 8, the Worcester Railers announced the signing of winger Jordan Smotherman for the 2020-21 season.
Jordan brings NHL experience to the Railers after playing two games for the Atlanta Thrashers during the 2007-2008 season. During that time, he tallied a goal and an assist while also playing two more games during the 2008-2009 season. He brings AHL experience as well after playing with the Chicago Wolves for three seasons, Syracuse Crunch, Providence Bruins and Springfield Thunderbirds.
Recently, Jordan played two seasons with the now-defunct Manchester Monarchs in the ECHL for the 2016-17 season and the 2017-18 season. There, he led the team in goals and assists with 34 goals and 38 assists. He spent the 2018-19 season split between the Iserlohn Roosters of the DEL and the Belfast Giants of the EIHL. For the 2019-20 season, he competed with the Belfast Giants again, playing 47 games with 13 goals and 23 assists.
