On Thursday September 3rd, the Worcester Railers announced the signing of American forward Jake Coleman to the roster. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.
Jake spent 2014-15 between the NAHL and the USHL. Opening the year with the Keystone Ice Miners, the righty recorded five goals along with 25 assists for a total of 30 points. He did so through 55 games. Later making the move to amateur, he played in three games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks. There, he recorded three goals along with six assists for a total of nine points.
In 2015-16, Jake started his four-year tenure in collegiate hockey with the Robert Morris Colonials. In 2016-17, Coleman played 26 games where he scored a single goal along with three assists. The following year, in 2017-18, the forward once again scored one goal along with three assists in 33 games.
In 2018-19, the narrative of Pittsburgh saw an uprise in production where he scored five goals along with four assists. This made for nine points registered which he recorded through 38 games. The 2019-20 season would be his final and most impressive season where Coleman played 36 games, putting up nine goals along with 12 assists.
The Railers are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s New York Islanders and the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
