On Monday July 27th, the Utah Grizzlies announced the signing of rookie forward Brayden Gelsinger. During his college days, between 2016-2020, the left-handed shooter competed for the Lake Superior Lakers in the NCAA. His biggest season to date was back in 2018-2019 where the Canadian racked up 10 goals and 13 assists in 38 games played.
Gelsinger, a native of Saskatchewan, has been playing hockey since 2008 where he competed on a pee-wee hockey team, the Regina Hurricanes in the SAAHL. Since then, the 25-year-old has seen time playing in major junior with the Kamloops Blazer of the WHL.
In my opinion, the Grizzlies are getting a strong forward that could be a major threat when the season comes around. At this time, the Canadian Hockey League has not yet landed on a date to re-start.
