Utah Grizzlies Re-Sign Defensemen Tanner Jago

On Friday, October 9th, the Utah Grizzlies announced the signing of Canadian defensemen Tanner Jango. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season. The Grizzlies bring Jago aboard for his first full season of professional hockey.

Jago signed with the Grizzlies after spending last season between between Texas and Idaho. Through a combined total of 50 games played, Jago scored just one goal along with seven assists for a total go eight points. Prior to making the jump pro, Jago spent four years playing with the Bentley Falcons in the NCAA.

During that tenure, the defensemen recorded 19 goals along with 67 assists which made for 86 points. He did so in 151 games. His first season of professional hockey was halted in March due to COVID-19. The native of Brandon, Manitoba had his best year in college in 2018-19.

In doing so, he recorded nine goals along with 19 assists which made for 28 points. In the same year, the left-handed shooter was also named captain of the Falcons men’s hockey program.
