The Adirondack Thunder announced their 10th signing of the offseason and eighth returning player from last year with the re-signing of defensemen Tommy Parran. “Great to have him back, especially after we saw a bit of him at the end of the 2018-19 season after he graduated from Ohio State University,” said Thunder radio voice Evan Pivnick who made the announcement instead of Alex Loh who normally runs the Facebook lives on Thursday’s at noon.
Parron Fighting For Sixth Defensemen Role
Parran is entering his second full season with the Thunder after struggling to solidify himself into the lineup last season. The former Buckeye played in a total of 121 games at Ohio State where he put up seven goals and 19 assists for 26 points. The 5’11, 185lbs defensemen has played in a total of 49 games with Adirondack where he’s managed to compile eight points.
The native of Ohio has done so, recording two goals along with six assists. Last season, Parran also finished tied for third on the Thunder for Plus/Minus rating.
Heading into the upcoming season, Parran will be fighting for a starting spot in the starting formation with the Adirondack Thunder. Adirondack has lost the services of Michael Sdao as he’s taking on an assistant coach role with the Lincoln Stars. As well, Kelly Summers is headed overseas.
The only other defensemen who the Thunder offered a qualifying offer to is Jake Linhart. He was another guy who was having trouble cracking the lineup at the season’s end. I expect there to be a battle for the sixth and final defensemen spot and I do expect them to bring in some help before the season begins on the fourth of December. A strong training camp and a hot start may be what Parran needs to be an everyday player next season.
