The Puck Authority’s Three Stars Of The Night (Nov 5)

⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Reilly Smith

Reilly Smith has been a goal-scoring machine for the Vegas Golden Knights so far this season and he continued to find the back of the net against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Vegas beat the Blue Jackets while on the road in Columbus by a score of 2-1. Reilly Smith scored both goals for the Golden Knights to lead his team to their ninth win of the season.

Smith’s goals were his eighth and ninth of the season and put him atop Mark Stone as Vegas’ leading goal scorer. Smith’s second goal of the game, which proved to be the game-winner, came while his side was short-handed. For smith, who walked away with the victory, it would be his second short-handed goal of the season.

⭐️⭐️ – Matthew Tkachuk

Matthew Tkachuk led his team to victory against the Arizona Coyotes with a three-point performance. The Calgary Flames completed their comeback victory over the visiting Coyotes in overtime when Matthew Tkachuk would score his second of the game to mark the Flames third unanswered goal. Tkachuk recorded the primary assist on Johnny Gaudreau’s goal which was the Flames first goal of the game. His first goal of the game started Calgary’s comeback as it was the first of their three unanswered goals.

⭐️ – Victor Mete

After going two seasons without having scored an NHL goal, Victor Mete has scored three in just 15 games played this season. Mete opened the scoring for the Montreal Canadiens against the league-best Boston Bruins in what would be a whirlwind of a game. The Boston Bruins eventually tied the game 3-3 with two unanswered goals, but Victor Mete got his club back in the game by scoring his second of the game.

Mete grabbed the attention of all hockey fans on Tuesday night, but nobody is happier about his three goals than Montreal Canadiens fans who have waited a long time for this to happen. Mete is on pace for 27 points which would be a career year for the Woodbridge, Ontario native.
