Scouting Notes:

Tynan is currently coming off his first year in the OHL with the Niagara Ice Dogs. As cliche as it may sound, the main thing Tucker needs is experience under his belt. He played in only 23 games last season and wasn’t sharp at all, putting up an 11-8-4 record with a 3.80 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.

He needs to bulk up without a doubt as he weighs a mere 159lbs. His game could definitely use work all around as shooters tend to look to go glove side during shootouts. One thing Tynan has is he’s not afraid to come out and throw a poke check which you don’t see much of nowadays in the NHL.

However, Tynan’s season was cut short after he suffered a gruesome injury on December 12th where he got cut by a stick blade and lost a significant amount of blood. Looking ahead to next season, it’s unclear how he will respond to the injury which has certainly hurt his draft value. I expect Tucker to be a fourth or fifth-round pick to a team that can give him at least three full seasons before even thinking about giving him some NHL action.
