Scouting Notes:

Bordeleau is one of the more interesting players from the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He has a wide range of tools that help him to both produce and keep up with bigger players. Bordeleau has produced at every level he’s played in and that’s a good sign moving forward.

It’s not a secret that he isn’t very big or tall, but he never seems to be overwhelmed out on the ice. He is a smooth skater which helps him move around on the ice and around players when transitioning the puck. What he lacks in strength, he makes up for in skills and while some are a little more raw than others, he does have some refined ones like his offensive awareness, his agility and his decision making. All these are of high quality and are valued by coaches and to a higher degree, scouts and developers.

His path to a potential role in the NHL will take some time. He is committed to the University of Michigan where he will meet other high end players like Brendan Brisson who is expected to be drafted in the same range as Bordeleau, Cam York, former 14th overall pick in the 2019 Draft, who is returning for his sophomore season and others. Bordeleau should continue to be an impact player in the NCAA and may surprise a few teams as a freshman.
