Scouting Notes:

Basran enters his second year of draft eligibility after going undrafted in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He is one of the players who may be one of the last players selected in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Despite this fact, there are a few things to like about Basran.

The 18-year-old goaltender has put up three assists over the past two seasons. It’s not often you see goaltenders getting on the scoresheet. He’s also very athletic in his crease which is a huge upside.

In his two-plus years with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League, Basran has put up average numbers. During the time frame he spent with the club, he’s put up a 48-38-10 record in 111 games while his goals-against average has been in the high two’s throughout this duration.
