Scouting Notes:

Chromiak, from Central Europe, enters the draft as a bit of a wild card as he hasn’t seen a large chunk of playing time, splitting last season between Kingston and the Slovak League. With the Frontenacs, he put up 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points. He did so in Eastern Ontario, having hit the ice for 28 games. However, he was playing alongside side Shane Wright who was granted exceptional player status earlier this year. He’s gonna need a full year in the OHL just to get used to the North American Style of hockey and adjust playing alongside some guys who aren’t blowing up the league.

His speed is one part of his game to take note of as he’s definitely a guy who’s gonna win battles for loose pucks in the corner. Unlike a lot of guys who have shown that they can rack up points in both the goals and assists categories, I expect Chromiak to be more of a guy whose gonna be a playmaker instead of a scorer in his career. But like I said, don’t expect to see him in the NHL anytime soon.
