Player Notes:
Jacob Perreault is currently listed as a guy who could go late in the first round. One thing that comes as a surprise is that Perreault is currently listed as a centerman, but has spent all year in Sarnia playing on the wing. This hasn’t affected his game at all as he’s picked up 39 goals and 31 assists for 70 points in 57 games.
Fifteen of those goals while with the Sting came with the man-advantage. Standing at 5’11, you wouldn’t expect Perreault to be a physical guy, however, he finished last season with 40 penalty minutes and was a surprising -34 which is interesting considering how well his offensive game is.
Looking ahead to the future, expect Perreault to see some action in the American Hockey League rather soon. One player that comes to mind when thinking about Perreault is Montreal’s Jesperi Kotkaniemi, a center who has proven to play better on the wing. I do expect Perreault to see time in the NHL in the middle, but expect most of his action and experience to be on the wing.
