Scouting Notes:

Alexander Pashin is a player who is hard to keep track of on the ice. By this, I mean that he is always moving around to get to the puck and create space for himself. One of Pashin’s most notable attributes is his speed.

He is no stranger to finding himself on one-on-one chances against goaltenders and this comes as a result of his speed. He always seems to be one stride ahead of defenders and his quickness and acceleration allow him to get one step ahead of them and find the space that he needs to beat goaltenders on breakaways.

His shot is the next attribute that will propel him to the NHL. He gets the shot off his stick so fast that you won’t even realize he had the puck at all. In tight areas, he does a great job tracking and receiving pucks and using his quick release to beat goalies before that can track the puck.

As an undersized winger, it is important to get pucks off your stick right away when in high-danger areas and Pashin does just that. Despite his tendency to get the puck off his stick quickly, Pashin also accedes at waiting out goaltenders by holding the puck back and waiting for an opening. He displays great patience and uses his skating abilities with his shot every shift to create chances.

When we talk about Pashin’s quick shot release, we can’t forget about his skills as a playmaker. Just as quick as his shot release is, he shows the same speed when dishing the puck out. He makes quick and accurate tape-to-tape passes right in front of the net to create high-danger scoring chances. He makes quick decisions with the puck on his stick and knows the right plays to make.
