Scouting Notes:

Holtz enters this year’s draft as one of two Swedes who could go in the top 10. The other Swede is Lucas Raymond. The 18-year-old forward has a lot of strong points in his game, but the one that stands out the most is his stick-handling.

He’s got one of the best, young shots in the game and knows how to get his body in position to get the puck off his stick and is able to find the open man with ease. One thing to note about Holtz is that he’s only averaging about 12 minutes a game currently in the SHL. However, this past season, he had nine points in 17 games with Sweden.

Looking ahead to the future, Holtz still has two years left on his contract with Djurgårdens IF. Don’t expect to see Holtz anywhere near the NHL for at least another two years. He needs to find a way to get top-six minutes in the SHL before coming over to North America.
