Scouting Notes
Savoie is a highly-skilled forward who is expected to be selected in the late-first or second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. A student at Denver University, one of his strongest assets is his shot. His accuracy and quick release allow him to capitalize on scoring chances before goaltenders have a chance to react fast enough.
He is constantly capitalizing on one-timers which is quick release and shot power. Another aspect of his game that allows him to find the back of the net so consistently is his pursuit of the puck. After getting the puck off of his stick for a shot, he follows the puck, making sure to get to the puck to try and convert on rebounds.
His abilities to track the puck in tight spaces and get the puck off of his stick in tight spaces are one of the big reasons why he is able to find the back of the net. Despite his scoring abilities, Savoie possesses good vision and an accurate pass that helps him find passing lanes to teammates in front of the net, this helping to create scoring chances.
