Blomqvist comes into the NHL 2020 Draft as the second-ranked goaltending in the draft and is expected to be picked before the end of the second round. The 18-year-old netminder plays a very cool and collected game in front of his own net. He moves side-to-side with no issues and seems to always be in a good position.
It’s clear that Blomqvist isn’t quite NHL ready as he still needs a full year as a starter in Lliiga before even thinking about coming over to North America. He weighs 205lbs pounds, but don’t let that fool you as tends to be beaten up high quite often. The Finnish netminder doesn’t have great control of rebounds, but it’s definitely not the weakest part of his game. Moving forward, it’s the experience that will be the key for Blomquvist who could possibly be in the NHL within three years minimum if he has success.
