Liam Pecararo Re-Signs With Swamp Rabbits For 2020-21

On Thursday November 19th, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits announced the re-signing of American left-winger Liam Pecararo. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.

Pecararo, 24-years-old, re-ups with the Swamp Rabbits for his second pro season. While splitting 2019-20 between the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Springfield Falcons, Pecararo didn’t get on the scoreboard, however, added one assist through eight games in Springfield. In Greenville, he played 39 games, scoring 23 goals along with 44 assists. As such, his statistics would be good enough to tie for third in points while playing with Greenville.

In a statement from Andrew Lord, head coach of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, he said of the team’s latest signing, “Pecararo is a dynamic offensive player with great skating ability. He is very effective off the rush, contributes on the power play and had a great season here last year.”

Prior to making the jump pro, Pecararo spent four years playing with the Northeastern Huskies in the NCAA. During the tenure he spent there, Pecararo, in 2019, would help guide the hockey club to a Hockey East Championship. In doing so, he tallied 30 points, having scored 11 goals along with 19 assists. He did so in 37 games.

In addition to his collegiate hockey career, Pecararo would spend two and a half seasons with the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL. Doing so prior to his freshman year, the forward put up 42 goals along with 76 assists which made for 118 points. He did so in 135 games.

Pecararo is a skilled, dynamic power forward, who played a pivotal role with the Swamp Rabbits as a rookie. The team hopes to see Pecararo continue to produce in 2020-21. Greenville will open the season on December 11th when they take on the Stingrays. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pmET.
