On Tuesday October 27th, the Kansas City Mavericks announced the signing of Canadian forward Brodie Reid. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season. Reid, 31-years-old, has spent the last five seasons playing in the EBEL overseas in Europe.
Last season with Villacher SV, Reid recorded nine goals along with 27 assists which made for 36 points. Most of his career in North America, the B.C. native played in the American Hockey League. In 198 AHL games, Reid has amassed 40 goals along with 46 assists which made for 86 points.
Reid, a right-handed shooter who stands at six-feet and 187 pounds, played junior hockey in the OHL and handles the puck well while possessing a great shot. He’s still a good athlete given his age and he can provide substantial leadership for Kansas City in 2020-21.With the Mavericks releasing Charlie O’Connor, Dylan Fitze and Spencer Naas, the Mavericks, at this time, are currently sitting at 24 players. Expect more roster moves to be made by the Mavericks hockey club in the upcoming weeks.
