On Thursday September 3rd, the Kalamazoo Wings announced the signing American forward Mitch Hults to the roster. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.

The centreman will add some size and scoring touch to the K-Wings depth chart come puck drop in December. Last season, Mitch competed in 28 games with the Kansas City Mavericks. There, he recorded 10 goals along with 18 assists for 28 points.

Hults also played with the Stockton Heat of the AHL where he skated in 12 games. While amassing two assists for two points, he also added on two penalty minutes.

In prior ECHL seasons, Hults spent time with the Mavericks, Utah Grizzlies and Orlando Solar Bears. Thus far in his pro career, Hults has scored 18 goals along with 43 assists for 61 points. He’s managed to do so in 73 contests.

In a statement from Nick Bootland, head coach of the Kalamazoo Wings, he said of the team’s newest addition, “Mitch is a big centerman, who skates well and has high-end skill. He makes his linemates better and will be counted on to play big minutes for us.”

Hults figures to bring the whole puzzle in size, strength and scoring power to the K-Wings depth chart. Hults will certainly be a welcome addition to the growing roster for 2020-21.
