Jackson Leef Re-Signs With The Beast

One of the most recognizable names on the Brampton Beast will be returning for his fourth season with the team. Forward Jackson Leef has been announced as the Beast’s latest signing. In doing so, he’s one of the first veterans on the team to re-sign.

The Westfield State University graduate and former captain of their hockey team was first introduced to his current club when he was loaned from the SPHL’s Evansville Thunderbolts. In his first 44 games with the team, he put up just 14 points with only five of them being goals. In the same year, he was loaned to the Laval Rocket, but only skated in one game for them. He finished the 2017-18 season with the Evansville Thunderbolts in postseason action.

After his first season, Leefe was signed by the Beast, and the last two years, have given him a household name. He has gained 68 points in two years, with 30 of those points being collected via goals.

His re-signing comes when the team is announcing a lot of younger players will be joining the team next year. Not only that, but veteran players have departed the team such as Jordan Henry, the former captain in Brampton. As well, Nathan Todd has moved on, signing in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose.
