On Wednesday, April 7, the Indy Fuel announced the signing of veteran AHL forward Terry Broadhurst to a standard player contract for the 2020-21 season.
Broadhurst joins the Fuel after splitting the 2019-20 season between the Charlotte Checkers and Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL. The 32-year-old appeared in 33 games last year between the two teams in which he recorded one goal and eight assists. Since turning pro during the 2011-12 season, Broadhurst has appeared in 292 AHL games. He’s recorded 47 goals and 91 assists, as well as wearing the “A” for the Rockford Icehogs during the 2018-19 season.
The 5-foot-11, 161 pound forward also has some ECHL experience under his belt. Broadhurst split the 2012-13 campaign between the AHL and the ECHL, suiting up for 36 games with the Toledo Walleye. With the Walleye he recorded 12 goals and 19 assists, giving him 31 points in his ECHL career prior to joining the Fuel.
Prior to turning pro, the Orland Park, Illinois native played for three years at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Skating in 110 games for the Mavericks, Broadhurst recorded 40 goals and 50 assists during his collegiate career. He was also named as the team captain during his junior year season, wearing the C right before turning pro.
Broadhurst also played in the USHL for two years before going to college. He appeared in 116 games for the Sioux Falls Stampede where he racked up 34 goals and 47 assists for a total of 81 points.
