On Thursday August 13th, the Indy Fuel announced the re-signing of Canadian forward Mathieu Foget. The Fuel originally acquired Foget in a trade with the Swamp Rabbits back on January 20th.
The 23-year-old played in 21 games where he tallied three goals along with 14 assists. Between the Indy Fuel and Greenville, Foget recorded five goals along with 21 assists before the season was cancelled. Having spent three years in the league, Foget has totalled 27 goals along with 49 assists in 110 games played.
The Orleans, Ontario native signed his first pro contract with the Allen Americans. He did so back in 2018 after splitting the season in the Ontario Hockey League. He played with the Mississauga Steelheads and Ottawa 67’s though his tenure in junior. The 5’9 forward played 100 OHL games where he scored 24 goals along with 60 assists.
Foget also appeared in 47 games while at Merrimack College. During his two-year stint there, the righty scored only six goals along with 10 assists in 47 games played.
