With the future considerations trade deadline now having passed across North America, the Fuel looked to fulfill considerations owed to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Orlando Solar Bears. Completing a pair of transactions, that sent a total of three players to each franchise respectively. As such, Greenville acquired the rights to forwards Alex Rauter and Dylan Malmquist. Additionally, Orlando acquired the rights to defensemen Tim Shoup.
Rauter originally joined the hockey club at the halfway point of the 2019-20 season. The 27-year-old re-joined Indy for their shortened campaign, where he took to the ice through 37 games played. With the Fuel, he amassed 17 points on 10 goals and seven assists. Rauter, a fan favourite in the Circle City, has appeared in 147 career ECHL games. 64 of them he’s spent skating in a Fuel sweater.
Malmquist, on the other hand, became the team’s newest member when he joined in January. At 24-years-old, the forward has appeared in a total of 26 career ECHL games. Having spent 21 of them with the Fuel, Malmquist has amassed six points, racking up three goals, while adding three assists.
Shoup joined Indy for his third professional season, also being his second with the Fuel. On the ice in 45 games this past season, the 26-year-old amassed eight points, racking up one goal, while adding seven assists. Looking at his career as a whole, Shoup has appeared in 118 ECHL games, 76 of them being with the Fuel. Throughout, he’s amassed 31 points, having tallied six goals, while adding 25 assists. 18 of those he’s tacked on while skating in Indy.
