Habs Look To Stay Alive In Game 5

The Montreal Canadiens, for the first time in 2020, will be playing for their postseason lives. After an incredible performance in game two that gave hope to Habs fan everywhere, the last games have not been the same. The Canadiens now have gone two a full two games without scoring one goal.

The Flyers have done a good job clogging up the neutral zone, and when the Canadiens are able to breakthrough, Carter Hart has been spectacular in net. We were curious to see what kind of response he would give after being pulled early on in game two.

Keys To Victory

Get the offence going: When the Canadiens are attacking and use their speed, they are able to get great chances on net and will need that on Wednesday night. Another lackluster game and it’s closing time for Montreal.

Disciplined hockey: Even if the Flyers power play hasn’t been able to convert yet, the Canadiens still need to stay out of the box to avoid giving Philadelphia opportunities. The Habs have done well killing penalties so far and need to keep it going on Wednesday.

Montreal Players To Watch

Brendan Gallagher: He usually leads the teams in goals, but for some reason, hasn’t scored one to date. He just needs to net one in and they will keep coming so he gets his confidence back.

Tomas Tatar: Like Gallagher, one of Montreal’s top goal scorers only has one goal so far in the postseason. He will be vital to a potential comeback or for that matter, to stay alive.

Philadelphia Players To Watch

Claude Giroux: He hasn’t scored a goal in the series yet, but has been a vital part of Philadelphia’s offence. Giroux, from Northern Ontario, is good at finding players in areas where they are set up to finish plays and score.

Jakub Voracek: The winger scored his first goal last game and will continue to be an offensive threat which Montreal needs to be aware of.

Puck drop is scheduled to take place at 8:00pmET at Scotiabank Arena. The game is available for viewing on Sportsnet Ontario, CBC and NBCSN, meanwhile, it can be heard via radio on TSN 690 and 98.5fm. It will also be carried in Canadiens region on TVA Sports to be watched in French.
